Garnett won’t be on the US team this summer
Recently KG was asked about playing in the summer Olympics this coming summer. He quickly said no way and dismissed the idea, saying,
“There is no discussion about that,” Garnett said. “I don’t want to discuss that. They know that.”
This is a bummer for team USA but probably a smart thing for KG. He has a great team to worry about now. Needs to stay healthy and fresh. The US committee surprisingly didn’t even try to convince KG otherwise.
Said [USA Basketball President Jim] Tooley: “We understand his decision and respect it. He’s with a good team and he’s focused on that.”
